Freedom Of Thought album coverSometimes artist pick a name that really makes it impossible to find on the internet. Simon Williamson is one of those people, according to last.fm there are at least 14 artists that go by the name Ghost. But Simon definitely is the one I enjoy listening to the most. The Freedom Of Thought album borders on electronic and slightly dubby sound, but sometimes sounds more like jazz.

When first listening to this album the intro song instantly caught my attention, by using one long sample from the movie Nineteen Eighty-Four that fits the album perfect. After this intro the album stays very pleasant to listen to and never starts to get boring.

When comparing Ghost’s music to other artists, probably the best match can be found in DJ Shadow’s earlier work. Which is of course not bad at all to be compared with! I have no clue why this music hasn’t been more popular, because if you ask me it’s one of the best albums of 2009.
